Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
InterviewDen (“InterviewDen,” “we,” “us”) operates the AI interview-practice tool at theinterviewden.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Your name and email address, provided when you sign in with Google or create an email/password account. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Resume content. When you upload a resume, we extract its text in memory to tailor your interview. We do not store the uploaded file itself — it is discarded after parsing. The extracted text is saved as part of the resulting interview record so you can revisit your feedback.
- Job descriptions and any other text you provide to set up an interview.
- Interview and practice content. Transcripts of your practice interviews (the questions asked and your typed or spoken answers), the scores and written feedback we generate, and your practice attempts.
- Voice / audio. If you answer out loud, your microphone audio is streamed to our speech provider (ElevenLabs) for real-time transcription. We do not record or store your audio; only the resulting text transcript is retained, as part of your interview record.
- Usage and device data. Standard analytics and operational logs (for example, features used, approximate usage volume, error diagnostics) that help us run and improve the Service.
2. How we use your information
- Provide the Service — generate tailored interviews, transcribe spoken answers, and produce scores and feedback.
- Maintain your interview and practice history so you can review your progress.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- Send you service-related email (for example, account verification, a welcome message, and optional reminders). You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time.
3. AI processing and model training
To generate your interview and feedback, we send your inputs — resume text, job descriptions, your answers, and the conversation so far — to our AI service providers: Anthropic (the Claude API, which powers the interview and feedback) and ElevenLabs (which converts speech to text and text to speech).
We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information. Our providers process your data under their commercial terms; Anthropic’s commercial API terms state that inputs and outputs submitted through the API are not used to train its models.
4. Service providers (sub-processors)
We share data with the following providers solely to operate the Service:
- Anthropic — generates interview questions and feedback (resume text, job descriptions, and answers).
- ElevenLabs — real-time speech-to-text and text-to-speech for spoken interviews.
- Google Firebase / Firestore — authentication and the database that stores your account and interview records.
- Google Cloud Platform — hosting and operational logging.
- Render and Vercel — backend and frontend hosting.
- Resend — delivery of transactional email.
- Google Analytics — aggregate usage analytics.
5. Organization-associated accounts
If you create your account through a partner organization’s invitation link (for example, a school, bootcamp, or non-profit program), your account is associated with that organization. An administrator at that organization can then see your usage data for the Service — including your interview and practice activity, scores, and progress — so they can support and track the students they enrolled. This is disclosed on the screen where you join. You can end the association at any time from your Profile page, which stops sharing your future usage data with that organization.
6. Data retention
We retain your account and interview data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete individual interviews, or your entire account and all associated data, at any time (see “Your rights and choices”). We may retain a minimal amount of operational and security log data for legitimate business purposes.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and review. Your interview and practice history is available to you in the app on your Profile page.
- Delete. You can delete any individual interview, or delete your entire account and all associated data, from your Profile page. Account deletion is immediate and permanent.
- Email choices. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email using the link in any such message.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA, or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise the core rights using the in-app controls above, or by emailing us at hello@theinterviewden.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to your interview records is scoped to your account through Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules, so other users cannot read your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
We operate in the United States, and your information is processed and stored there. By using the Service, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes may be communicated through the Service.
